The Manager of Project Management & Production, Pre-Health Programs will project manage the efforts of Kaplan Test Prep to develop high quality, engaging, and diverse print and digital Pre-Health test preparation products. Having direct experience with a variety of project types including print, online, and video media, he or she will take initiative and project ownership as Kaplan combines its experience and expertise with its rich store of performance data to build products that leapfrog those of the competition in effectiveness, efficiency, and quality.
Job Responsibilities
Manage large, multi-functional-area projects that encompass deliverables moving along differing processes and timelines
Create comprehensive, integrated project plans for all aspects of product development
Identify resource needs and source and manage those resources
Be responsible for maintaining on-going documentation (e.g., status reports, meeting minutes, etc.)
Identify risks, costs, resources, and dependencies and plan strategies to manage them
Track spending and ensure that products do not exceed budget
Facilitate Production Artist input during requirements gathering and discovery
Understand Production Art, copyediting, and proofreading in project planning and allocating work to in- and out-of-house resources
Manage the creation of production documentation including style guides, style sheets, etc.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Ability to thrive under the pressure of deadlines
Knowledge of MS Office suite; MS Project and Visio preferred
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree
3 or more years of experience in project and/or production management
Experience working the in the publishing, education, or media industries strongly preferred
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with multiple teams on complex projects
